Nothing comes between Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence and their Calvins! The two starlets both rocked minimalist Calvin Klein Collection gowns to major red carpet events: Emma at a screening of the latest Harry Potter flick and Jennifer at the Oscars. But which actress rocks the simple design best? Emma compliments the dresses classic shape and clean lines by opting for a sophisticated black version. She sticks to the basics when it comes to accessories, choosing elegant black heels and a barely-there bracelet as her only piece of jewelry but her fashion-forward pixie cut adds some youthful edginess to the look! Jennifer, on the other hand, gives the dress' minimalist shape a jolt of energy by opting for a version in fire engine red. She makes sure the gown is the main attraction by opting for quieter hair and accessories--her loose locks and gold clutch are the perfect counterpart to this notice-me-now frock!

Runway to Real Life: Kate Bosworth Vs. Karlie Kloss in Dolce & Gabbana
It doesn't get much more romantic than Dolce & Gabbana's lacy, floor-length frock. So it's no surprise that after seeing the dress on the spring 2011 catwalk, Kate Bosworth was itching to wear it the first chance she got! Of course, the stylish starlet put her own spin on the runway-ready look by cinching it at the waist with a brown belt and wearing her hair long and loose. Karlie Kloss, on the other hand, stomped the catwalk with minimal accessories and a romantically undone updo. Who do you think wore it best? Cast your vote in the comments!
Shenae Grimes and Ashley Tisdale Get Catty in Leopard Coats
Talk about letting the cat out of the bag! Both Shenae Grimes and Ashley Tisdale took a walk on the wild side with fierce leopard coats. Shenae paired her spotted trench with a signature rock 'n' roll aesthetic: black skinnies, a band tee, and undone hair. Ashley, on the other hand, goes for glamour by pairing her Funktional Predator Coat with a white lace dress, nude heels, and every It girl's must-have accessory: a Chanel bag! Her loose hair and layered necklaces keep the outfit from looking overdone. Who do you think wore the look best? Tell us in the comments!
Leighton Meester and Alexa Chung Man Up in Menswear
Oh boy! Both Leighton Meester and Alexa Chung got in touch with their masculine side, sporting menswear-inspired looks at recent events. Borrowing from the boys, Leighton opted for a classic grey suit--tie included! But the petite star made the look all her own, with perfectly tailored pants and blazer and a daring smokey eye. Her undone hair and sky high heels add the perfect touch of feminine elegance to the otherwise boyish look. Alexa channeled a more interpretive menswear look in navy, high-waisted shorts and a matching double-breasted jacket. She finishes off the look with her signature quirky aplomb thanks to her unexpected gold necklace, sequin purse and maryjane heels. Which star do you think pulls off the menswear-inspired trend best? Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry's American Music Awards Style Showdown
Talk about lightening up! Both Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry eschewed their signature palettes, rock n' roll black and candy-colored hues, respectively, for heavenly pale frocks at the 2010 American Music Awards. Miley opted for a gorgeous Marchesa gown with intricately detailed ruching and strapless neckline. The short and sassy hemline in the front is offset perfectly with the regal train in the back, while Miley can't help but add a touch of her signature rocker style with an armful of bangles, loads of rings and dark nails. Katy ditched her quirky, candy-inspired look which has been de rigeur for the starlet over the past few months, for a soft, feminine Bagdley Mischka dress. Although, we have to say, the dress does remind us a bit of cotton candy. She keeps the rest of the look classic by opting for nude heels and sleek, retro waves. Emma Watson and Clemence Poesy Lace-Off at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Premiere
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows stars Emma Watson and Clemence Poesy have more in common than just a hit movie and stunning good looks! The two actresses both share a love of lace--and it was in full effect at today's Deathly Hallows red-carpet premiere. But which magical lady won this fashion duel? Emma's lacy minidress is sweet and daring: The dainty black-and-white fabric is given a generous helping of edginess thanks to Emma's sleek pixie cut, peekaboo bra, and feathered skirt. Emma opted for classic black pumps and minimal accessories to keep the dress the main event. Clemence, instead, went for a more classic lacy look: A romantic navy dress hitting just above the ankles in this season's hemline de rigeur. The puffy sleeves and black velvet details along the bodice add a Victorian edge to the look, but Clemence keeps from going overboard by opting for black heels and a no-muss, no-fuss hairstyle. Added bonus: We love that she's carrying a book instead of a purse! Who do you think is best dressed? Tell us in the comments!
Taylor swift's speak now style showdown
Taylor Swift is one busy woman! In NYC to promote her new album, Speak Now, the singer has been zipping from performances to talk-show appearances to meet-and-greets--even to an unveiling of her waxy likeness at Madame Tussauds! But a new album and killer vocals aren't the only things Taylor was promoting--the blonde bombshell also showed off her keen fashion sense. The songstress opted for grown-up glamour at the Madame Tussaud's event in a sequined mini dress, black heels, and dramatic red lips. Daytime, on the street in NYC, Taylor went for a casual-cool look in black skinny jeans and a plaid shirt. Her knitted beret and offbeat gold necklace add just the right amount of interest to the otherwise plain outfit. At The Late Show with David Letterman, she went for bold color in a bright-yellow Dolce and Gabbana dress, red lips, and red heels. What's your favorite look on Taylor? Tell us in the comments!
kristen stewart and kelly osbourne lace up
Kristen Stewart and Kelly Osbourne may have both stepped out in lacy numbers recently--but that's where the similarities stopped! Despite their shared love of the delicate fabric, the two young starlets' looks couldn't have been more different! But whose approach to lace worked best? Kristen opted for a one-shouldered minidress that nicely contrasted two different types of the black-and-beige fabric. The flourish of ribbon on the strap added interest, while the color blocking along the waist line kept the dress flattering. Kristen made sure her look was ultra-glam with Hollywood-red lips, swept-back hair, and classic black pumps. Kelly, on the other hand, turned the typical little lacy dress on its head by opting for a formfitting jumpsuit! The spunky Brit kept the statement bold by donning an oversize belt, platinum hair, and minimal accessories. Who do you think wore their lace best? Tell us in the comments section!
Nikki Reed and Willa Holland's Shine Showdown at Teen Vogue's Young Hollywood Party
Talk about going for the gold! Actresses Nikki Reed and Willa Holland stole the spotlight at Teen Vogue's Young Hollywood party in metallic dresses both from Michael Kors. But which bright young thing wore her gold best? Nikki went for classic Hollywood glamour in a gold sequined dress with a modern silhouette and an interesting drapery detail in the front. To complement the timeless look, Nikki opted for an undone half-up hairstyle and strappy high heels. Willa went for short and sweet in a mini shift dress whose gold-foil material and modest neckline were a welcome update to the standard little metallic dress. She kept the rest of her look simple with unfussy hair, minimal accessories and strappy black heels. Which star wore their gold dress best? Tell us in the comments!
Rachel bilson and taylor swift's cavalli competition
Designer Roberto Cavalli has been making A-listers look glam for 40 years--and this week's anniversary party was no exception! Cavalli-clad Rachel Bilson and Taylor Swift stole the show, but we can't decide whose look truly makes tribute to the designer! Rachel got dotty in the designer's favorite pattern--leopard, of course!--in a slinky dress with a romantic off-the-shoulder neckline, undone hair and red purse that added the perfect pop of color. Taylor opted for the designer's other mainstay: A short hemline and loads of sparkle! Taylor's strappy heels and red pout add a fashion-forward edge to the otherwise basic silhouette of the dress. Which one do you think looks best? Tell us in the comments!
loove the leopard coats!!xx

A few of my opinions:
ReplyDeleteI like Lawrence's simplistic look, more so than Watson's - maybe because of the dress length. I do however prefer Watson's garment over Clemence Poesy for the Harry Potter Premiere. I am not too much of a fan of Poesy's lacey gown.
I also think Alexa Chung pulled off the menswear-inspired look over Leighton - though I love both looks, as Chung added some feminine aspects which look great.
